Sultania goes hi-tech with Gama camera, Laparascope machine, ventilator

Sultania Janana Hospital, a woman referral Government hospital associated with Gandhi Medical College (GMC), recently purchased many medical equipment and machines with latest technology as Gama camera with Rs 5 crore, Operating Laparoscope machine of Rs 54 lakh and Ventilator of Rs 12 lakh. There is no Government hospital where the patients’ different type of body tests are conducted through the Gama camera. The Medical Education Department, after the hospital’s plight was in media, sanctioned Rs 5 crore for Gama camera and some more money for other equipment.
Sources in Sultania said Government wanted to make this hospital the best women’s treatment hospital of the State. In coming months, some more modern machines and equipment are being planned for this hospital. With these new equipment and machines, the doctors and paramedical staffers are also happy that there will be good medical tests so the treatment of the patients might be better.
There was no ventilator, the patients used to be referred to Hamidia Hospital to save their life. Besides, there was no machine for laparoscopic operations, there will no need to refer women patients for operation to Hamidia Hospital. Many times, patients die after referring them to Hamidia or other hospital. The blood bank is in process. The doctors in Sultania Hospital think with Gama camera that is in operation these days, the patients from different Government hospitals of the State might be referred for many essential life-saving tests to this hospital as no Government hospital in the State has such costly Gama camera. With the Gama camera, the tests of lung cancer, liver, bone implant, detection of cancer in other parts of the body is possible. Hospital has being under the process of makeover.
Dr Karan Peepre, Superintendent, Sultania Hospital, said this Government hospital has fully changed with modern technology machines. Gama camera was not in any Government hospital of the State. Ventilator and Operation Laparoscope have also been purchased. Number of difficult tests will be done through these machines, he said.
