‘Take benefit of Employees Enrolment Campaign’

NAG Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC) along with Employees Provident Office (EPFO) jointly organised a one-day workshop on Employees Enrolment Campaign 2017. Animesh Mishra, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-1 was the keynote speaker on the occasion. Prakash Mehadia, President of NVCC welcomed the Commissioner while Hemant Gandhi, Senior Vice-President, welcomed Kishore Rajhans, Senior Officer Provident Fund by floral bouquet.
Jayprakash Parekh, Secretary of NVCC gave welcome speech and informed the objective of organising the workshop. “Government has launched a very good scheme for the benefit of traders. They should first know the scheme from the authority properly and take benefit of the scheme and get relieved from tension,” he said.
Mishra said, Employees Enrollment Campaign, 2017 has been launched to encourage firms to enroll their employees. Under the scheme, the employees share of contribution, if declared by the employer as not deducted, would stand waived.
“The damages to be paid by the employer in respect of the employees for whom declaration has been made under this campaign will be at the rate of Rupee one per annum. Besides, no administrative charges will be collected from the employer in respect of the contribution made under the declaration. Under the scheme, a declaration can be made under the campaign for the period till March 31, 2017, for which no inquiry under section 7A has been initiated,” he said.
The primary objective of the scheme is to enroll the eligible workers who were left out, in bringing them under its social security umbrella. The campaign seeks to enroll new establishments and employees with or without past service. The campaign aims to encourage employers to voluntarily come forward and declare details of all such employees who were entitled for membership between April 1, 2009 and December 31, 2016 under EPF & MP Act 1952, but could not be enrolled.
