Sanskardhani celebrated festival of colours with traditional zeal and zest as people smeared ‘gulal’, splashed colour balloons on each other and exchanged sweets, colours ruled the streets on Monday as people of all ages celebrated Holi across the city and joined the revelry applying ‘gulal’ on each other, offered sweets and singing and dancing to songs and drum beats.
People embraced each other wishing ‘Happy Holi’ as unseen hands squirted them with a well-timed coloured water spray. Water-filled balloons were lobbed from rooftops and balconies as cries of ‘Holi hai’ reverberated the streets. Right from the morning, people also gathered in park, garden, Bhanwartal, Gole Bazzar garden, and celebrated holy by putting gulal and exchanged the greetings of Holi festival.
This year the celebration also added glory, where, every one celebrated holi in peaceful atmosphere.People also celebrated holi by promoting eco-friendly holy, by using natural colours and flower holy. Devotees also offered colour and flower holi to lord Krishna. Lord Shiva in the different temples of city.
The festival, the harvest festival which heralds the advent of spring, is celebrated to commemorate the Hindu mythological tale of Prahlada emerging unscathed from the flames despite being drawn into the fire by demons Holika.
The Hindu month of ‘Phagun’ ended on Sunday with ‘Holika Dahan’ and ‘Chaita’ starting from Monday.
Sanskardhani is also known for its rich culture and tradition for celebrating festival of colours. Where, people celebrating this day by singing Bundelkhandi Holi Faag. Which was also a part of celebration. Along with this, people also loved to have sweets, Gujhiya. Without, these, the festival of colours are incomplete in city. To mark the celebration, various cultural, social organizations also conducted various cultural programme, Kavi Sammelan, and etc.
These programmes were the center of attraction among citizen during the celebration. Holi, the festival of colours which gives happiness and people celebrating this day with brotherhood and in peaceful atmosphere. Till late night, on Sunday, Holika Dahan was held in every street and square of city.
Thereafter, people started celebration of Holi by offering tilak to each other and exchanged the greetings of Holi festival.
