Jewellery shop burgled in Gorakhpur

In yet another instance of theft in thickly populated Gorakhpur main road falling under Gorakhpur police station, one jewellery shop named as New Krishnalal and Sons was found targeted by some unidentified miscreants, who managed to steal gold, silver made ornaments and jewels worth around Rs 10 lakh. The miscreant allegedly invaded the shop on the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday. The incident came to fore on Thursday afternoon around 1.00 pm after the shop owner who reached the shop found the shop plundered.


The CCTV footage obtained shows one masked fugitive who invaded the shop buy cutting the grill of the shop and managed to collect valuable at leisure.
According to information, it was panic-like situation in jewellery shop situated near Gorakhpur petrol pump on Thursday afternoon after the shop owner who allegedly reached at his shop to start days business found the shop being targeted. Sensing major foul he informed police who reached the spot carried out with investigations.


The shop owner, in his complaint made with police, stated that he closed his shop on Tuesday. Wednesday being market off day he reached at his shop on Thursday afternoon. He was shocked to find the shop being targeted as empty gold ornament boxes were found lying at random in the shop. The shop installed with CCTV the shop owner examined the CCTV footage and found one masked fugitive who managed to remove the grill invaded the shop and is seen collecting valuables.


The victim told police in view of the fact that the sole miscreant had ample time inside the shop has managed to completely plunder the valuables in the shop. The loss of valuable stolen from the shop would be ascertained only after the stock of the shop is complied. Initial workout by the shop owner reveals that the miscreant managed to take away valuable worth around Rs10 lakh.


Cops who carried out investigation by deploying finger print expert and sniffer dog remained inconclusive as no traces of the miscreant was obtained in course of toil carried out by the police. On the basis of complaint and the CCTV footage obtained police have registered a case under relevant sections of IPC against the masked miscreant found in the CCTV footage. The theft incident in Gorakhpur main road market place has caused serious resentment among other traders who have accused cops of apathy to tighten noose around miscreants involved in theft. Gorakhpur traders association has demanded to intensify night patrolling in the area.
