Speeding dumper mows down man

Yet another instance of premature death on account of reckless driving came to fore at Bhedaghat police station after one speeding dumper numbered MP 20 GA 1721 first hit one Innova car stationed near Behdan bridge and in his attempt to move out from the spot, crushed two people on bicycle. Of the two having sustained multiple injuries, one succumbed before reaching Medical College and Hospital. The dumper driver, sensing disaster, lost control and the dumper turned upside down little ahead of the accident spot as the driver managed to flee from the spot.
According to information obtained from Bhedaghat police station, they were informed about two people being rushed to Medical College and Hospital. At the hospital, one injured named as Dwarka Prasad Lodhi(32) resident from Sagda talab told that he along with paternal father-in-law Harprasad Lodhi and his brother-in-law Jagdish were on their way to procure goods on their respective bicycles. Around 4.00 pm, one speeding dumper coming from behind first hit one stationed Innova car numbered UP 94 J 7000. Having hit the stationed car that caused damage to car, the dumper driver accelerated the dumper and hit them going on bicycle.
Due to massive impact, his paternal father in-law and his brother-in-law sustained multiple injuries. Of the two, the senior citizen was partially crushed beneath the wheels of the dumper. Having hit them badly, the dumper driver, having sensed double mishap, took u turn while running at high speed. Consequently, the dumper turned upside down, giving opportunity for the driver to flee from the spot. Ambulance 108 was called and the injured were taken to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Medical College and hospital. At the casualty, the medical staff who examined the two injured declared Harprasad Lodhi (55) resident from Sagda Tilwara brought dead. While another Jagdish having sustained serious injuries is undergoing treatment.
After the death was confirmed, police carried out investigations, made panchnama and sent the body for autopsy. A case under Section 279, 337, 304A of IPC has been registered against the absconding driver. The dumper has been seized as further investigation are underway to apprehend the absconding driver. After the autopsy was performed, the body was handed over to the family members of the deceased.
