Parthivi students to brainstorm at Smart India Hackathon 2017

PARTHIVIANS have brought laurels to the college and the State with their two project from Mechanical and Electrical Department being selected out of around 7,531 projects for Smart India Hackathon 2017.


A total of 18 projects from Chhattisgarh are finalised Smart India Hackathon 2017 is a biggest hackathon in the world. Its objective is to create a permanent platform to harvest the creativity and energy of youngsters directly for nation building.


The Smart India Hackathon 2017 aims to find digital solutions to problems in the areas of power, education, health, water, finance, agriculture, energy, urban and rural development, aviation, shipping, transport, sanitation, sports, law and justice, skill development and entrepreneurship, defence, textiles, tourism etc. Some of the ministries and departments participating in the Hackathon include Railways, External Affairs, Defence, Civil Aviation, Indian Space Research Organization and Department of Atomic Energy.


As scheduled, around 10,000 participants will take part in the 36-hour grand finale which is scheduled to be held on April 1 and 2 at 25 nodal centers simultaneously.


Winners will be felicitated with cash prizes and a chance to be part of the NASSCOM’s 10,000 Startups programme. The details of the selected project of Electrical Department of Parthivi College of Engineering and Management (PCEM) is based on the topic ‘Condition of Railway Tracks’ which will come under Ministry of Railway. PCEM team members for this project are team leader Govind Ram Sahu, Akash Singh Rajput, Divakar Paul, Madhulika Dewangan, Shreya Dhuranddhar and Vaishali Verma. Concept of their project is to create monitoring and detection Device for the safety of railway tracks.


Similarly, the other selected project is from Mechanical Department on the topic ‘Application for selecting suitable material based on the raw material characteristics in Pelletizing Plant’. The student team
members of this team are team leader Pankaj Dewangan,
Jyoti Sikdar. Shivani Awasthi, Vivek Kumar Singh, Yogesh Agarwal and Tanuja. These students will visit Udaipur and Indore for their project presentation on April 1 and 2.
President Parthivi Education Society Shailesh Verma, Secretary Sanjay Baghel, Directors of PCEM Neera Verma and Archana Baghel and Principal of the college Professor Dr B D Tharakan congratulated the students and wished them for their success in the future event.
