Annatyag Andolan in support of farmers evokes good response

Yuva Parivartan Manch on Sunday staged 'Annatyag Andolan' at Tiranga Chowk near Samta Maidan in the memory of debt-ridden farmer from Chilgawan village Sahebrao Pawar, who ended his life along with wife Malti and three children, about 31 years ago. The agitation was organsied to expressed solidarity with the distressed farmers in the State.

Large number of youths participated in the stir. Addressing the gathering Pramod Kudale alleged that farmers have ended their lives due to wrong policies of Government. Dr Dileep Mahale demanded complete loan-waiver for the farmers. All the people called off their agitation by consuming lemon juice in the evening.
Prof Ghansyam Darne, Dr Chetan Darne,Nitin Mirzapure, Lata Khandve, Rahul Pawar and others participated in the agitation.

In WARDHA: Various social organisations in the city staged ‘Annatyag Andolan’ in front of Mahatma Gandhi Statue on Sunday to draw the attention of State Government towards farmers’ plight. Under the leadership of Amar Habib, senior farmer leader, the agitation was held in memory of farmer Sahebrao Karpe Patil and his family.

The members of Janmanch, Aadhar Sanghatana, Aamhi Wardhekar, Ekal Mahila Sanghatan, Maharashtra Rajya Prathmik Shiskhak Samiti, Maratha Seva Sangh, Akhil Bhartiya Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti, Veer Bhagatsing Vidyarthi Parishad, LIC Employees’ Federation, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Rashtriya Shikshak Parishad, Akhil Bhartiya Kisan Parishad, Shetkari Sanghatana, Rashtriya Vidyarthi Sanghatana, Nisarga Mitra Sanstha and other social organisations assembled near Mahatma Gandhi Statue and staged the agitation.

Even after the three decades of the incident, the farmers are still committing suicides in the State. To draw the attention of the Government towards serious issue, social organisations of the city raised their voice in support of the farmers. They demanded proper MSP for agriculture products, complete loan waiver for the farmers and implementation of the recommendations of Swaminathan Commission.

Under the leadership of Sumantai Agrawal, senior farmer leader, Harish Ithape, Bhaskar Ithape and Mahesh Pawar of Janmanch, Sanjay Ingle Tigaonkar of Janmanch, Vijay Kombe and Mahendra Bhute of Maharashtra Rajya Prathmik Shikshak Samiti, Praveen Patbhaje of Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Shikshak Parishad, Raja Wankhede, Sudhir Girhave, Balasaheb Ingole, Neeraj Bute of Maratha Seva Sangh, Dr. Siddhartha Butale, Sudhir Pangul of Social Forum, Sachin Hajare, Adv. Yeole of Wardha District Advocates’ Association ,the office- bearers of various organisations Kavadu Sawarkar, Sharad Halge, Vasantrao Chambhare, Kapilvruksha Godghate, Ajay Tigaonkar, Jeevan Chore, Chandrashekhar Thakare, the members of various association, farmers from all parts of the district, women and girls took part in the agitation.

MAHAGAON: “Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh had raised the question that though capital was generated from agriculture, farmers never got the benefit of it. Though farmers produce wealth they are poor.

Farmers have failed to light their lives with prosperity,” lamented noted agriculture expert Chandakant Wankhade at Chilgawhan. He was staging Annatyag Andolan along with other activists on Sunday.

Prominent personalities including MP Raju Shetti, President of Textiles Corporation Ravikant Tupkar, MLA Ashish Deshmukh, former legislator Vijayrao Khadse, MLA Rajendra Najardhane and others were present on the occasion.
