Miscreant kills man over old rivalry

IN A tragic incident, a middle-aged man was killed after being attacked by a miscreant over an old rivalry under jurisdiction of Gwarighat police station in the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Shivkumar Dubey alias Kalai Maharaj (40), a resident of Bargi and works as a driver. SHO of Gwarighat police station Maduresh Pachori informed that in the intervening night of Saturday and Saturday, a girl named Sarita Thakur (19), a resident of near Gwarighat Railway Station, filed a complaint that her uncle named Kalai Maharaj was sleeping outside the house when a man named Ganesh Gond arrived and started abusing him. Hearing the noise, he woke up and asked him to refrain from using such abusive language. Before Kalai could learn his intentions, the miscreant picked-up a cane and attacked him. In the attack, Kalai sustained critical injuries on his forehead and face. Bleeding profusely, he fell on the ground and miscreant threatened him to life and managed to escape from the spot. She rushed her uncle to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College and Hospital with help of 108 Ambulance Service. Receiving the information, a police team reached the hospital and took statements of complainant. Gwarighat police registered a case under Section 307 of the IPC and started investigations into the case. Thereafter, police received information that condition of the injured deteriorated and he succumbed to his critical injuries during treatment. Police team reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem after conducting panchnama. Gwarighat police have registered a case under Section 302 of the IPC and started rigorous search for the accused.
