MSME Data Bank is mandatory for availing benefits: Bharati

VIA Economy and Finance Forum organised a programme on MSME policy. The keynote speaker was Gajendra Bharati, General Manager of District Industries Centre (DIC).


He said, Government has launched comprehensive ‘Data Bank’ which has been made mandatory for all the MSME units. It has to be furnished the information on line. “The Data Bank will eventually be used for public procurement purposes and other benefit by PSU and Government agencies. The Data Bank will be one stop source of information of MSMEs including their credit and technology and requirements in term of raw material and marketing. These Data will be also be extended to provide grant and subsidy to MSMEs,” he said. “Information given in the databank is of routine nature and no confidential information is required by the data bank, hence it will retain the confidentiality of the business,” he added. He urged all the units to provide the information on the website of the data bank.


He explained about the MAITRI, which is single-window system to facilitate easy trade and grievances removal. “It is simplified procedure for obtaining industrial registration by filing Udyog Aadhaar memorandum on-line. Now, industrial units are not required to obtain provisional registration for setting of units. They can directly obtain Udyog Aadhar memorandum after they have gone for production. No Department will insist for provisional SSI registration for issue of consent NoCs like MPCB, power, etc.,” he added.


The application under Package Scheme of Incentives 2013 has also be digitalised. An entrepreneur did not have to make any physical applications for Stamp Duty exemption, eligibility certificate and for claiming subsidy under the scheme. Approvals will be given to units on-line. Earlier, O S Bagdia, Vice- President of VIA made welcome address and said comprehensive Data Bank by Govt eventually be used for public procurement purposes by PSUs. “The Data Bank is one stop source of information of MSMEs including their credit and technology requirements in terms of raw material and marketing,” he said. CA Naresh Jakhotia, Joint Secretary of VIA conducted proceedings.
