Cong activists take to streets against new liquor policy

On the call of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC), Congress workers and leaders staged a demonstration in all districts and block headquarters of the State on Saturday to protest against new liquor policy.
As part of this protest, Raipur Urban District Congress Committee (UDCC) staged a day-long dharna in all five blocks of Raipur.
Civil Line Block Congress Committee staged dharna at Minimata Bus Stand premises.
CPCC President Bhupesh Baghel and other senior Congress leaders participated in dharna.
Addressing the gathering, Bhupesh Baghel said that Congress demanded the state government to impose a complete ban on sale of liquor.
Raipur Congress President (Urban) Vikas Upadhyay accused the state government for constituting a corporation for selling liquor in the State.
Pramod Choubey, Sunita Sharma, Kanhaiya Agrawal, Dilip Agrawal, Dhananjay Thakur, Amzad Khan, Kalpana Patel, Asha Chauhan, Rashid Khan, Munna Mishra, Yogesh Tiwari, Nattu, Akash Sharma, Bhavesh Shukla, Shatish Thakur, Sonia Yadav and other Congress leaders and workers participated in the dharna at Purani Basti.
Former MLA Kuldeep Juneja, Sanjay Pathak, Mahendra Chhabra, Daulat Arora, Prem Lunavat, Vimal Gupta, Chandra Behra, and other Congress leaders participated in the dharna at Civil Line.
Former Mayor Kiranmayi Nayak, Suryamani Mishra, Srikumar Menon, Dr Annu Sahu, Ramdas Kurre, Somanlal Thakur, Preeti, Anil and others participated in the protest at Tatibandh.
Raipur Mayor Pramod Dubey, Inderchand Dhariwal, Chhattisgarh Mahila Congress President Phulo Devi Netam and other Congress took part in the dharna at Sadar Bazar.
Congress leaders and workers in large number took part in the dharna.
