MP players bag 5 medals in Rowing Ergometer C’ship

Players belonging to Madhya Pradesh clinched five medals, including two gold medals, two silver medals and a bronze medal and remained second in medal tally in Indoor National Rowing Ergometer Championship held in Pune recently.
Madhya Pradesh Academy players clinched three medals, including a gold, a silver and a bronze medal in the championship.
It is noticeable that Madhya Pradesh also secured second position in national indoor rowing ergometer championship held last year in Kolkata.

Madhya Pradesh Academy players including Sona Keer, Rukmani, Umar Farukh Mansoori and Kuldeep, performing their best in light weight four event, clinched gold medal whereas pair of Sona Keer and Rukmani clinched silver medal in pair event. In open mix-4 event, Bhanu Pratap Singh clinched a bronze medal. ITBP’s Geeta Kumar and Karuna Kumari participated from Madhya Pradesh team and Ankit participated from MP Academy team.
ITBP players Geeta Kumari and Manisha clinched a gold medal in open pair event and Madhya Pradesh team’s Karuna Devi won a silver medal in open personal event in the championship.

Balram Soni, SC Vishakat Chandra, Mangal Singh and Prince Nasir also participated in the competition. The players participated under the guidance of assistant coach Mushaidi Khatoon in the championship.
Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia greeted the medal winners for their best performance in the event. Sports and Youth Welfare Director Upendra Jain also expressed happiness and greeted the players for their achievements.
