Four former sales executives paid outstanding gratuity after ALC’s verdict

THE outstanding gratuity payment was finally disbursed among four former sales executives following the case in the same context filed with Assistant Labour Commissioner (Central), Raipur office. The gratuity payment was released after the verdict in the case given by ALC (Central), Raipur office following scheduled hearings.
According to information, while seeking legal assistance in the persisting delay in outstanding gratuity payment owing to reluctance of the private limited company, the four former sales executives of Bajoria Appliances Private Limited, Kolkata (West Bengal) filed a case with ALC (Central), Raipur office. These sales executives were employed by the company for sales of appliances and the sales executives had resigned from services after serving the company for more than five years but they were deprived of outstanding gratuity payment by the company. After the scheduled hearings in the case and recording depositions of the parties concerned, the verdict delivered in favour of sales executives by ALC (Central), Raipur office on basis of merits in the case. In compliance of the verdict Bajoria Appliances Private Limited released payment of over Rs 2.20 lakhs cumulatively in final settlement of gratuity payment.
While confirming details, Akhilesh Rai, Assistant Labour Commissioner (Central), Raipur informed that after the scheduled hearings, the verdict was given in favour of sales executives and on basis of merits in the case. He also added that since the sales executives had served with the company for more then five years of period they were entitled for gratuity payment.
