Safety Awareness Programme “Jagriti”, held at Expansion Office of Project Department, BSP, was graced as the chief guest, DGM (Project-Safety, HR & Rajbhasha) Dr. Jai Prakash Pandey, and was attended by more than 60 contract laborers from different project zones.
While addressing on this occasion, Chief Guest Dr. Pandey stressed on the point that Safety should be considered as the top priority in all works in progress under different projects—from their commencement to the end! He also pointed that over-confidence and unsafe work practices are the main causes of all accidents. “Regular Safety inspection, keen observation of the recordings of near- miss cases and prevailing safety hazards, along with conducting regular safety training for workers would certainly contribute in making all places of work accident free. Safety should be considered as the highly important issue at all levels, as it is closely related to our social responsibility” asserted Dr. Pandey.
Soon after, under Safety Culture Exchange Program, the Safety officers from M/S Tata Projects demonstrated the correct use of ‘full body harness’ while working at heights; while the Safety Officers from M/S ABB shared with the assembled laborers the information regarding the practical implementation of safety devices and prevailing best safety practices in different zones of project work.
