4th convocation of Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University held

“Education is the foundation of economic development and scientific researches have changed the world scenario. Industrial and green revolutions augmented production by many folds and information technology revolution reduced distances around the globe. Despite having tremendous production growth, the country is still facing the wickedness of poverty as a major challenge. 25 per cent population is living below poverty line and deprived of getting nutritious diet and medication. There is an urgent need of new researches and advanced technologies for improving living standard of farmers. Research scholars should shoulder the responsibility of innovations for benefiting farmers and poor persons to accord them to the main stream of development”, said Professor Om Prakash Kohli, Governor of Madhya Pradesh and Chairman of Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University.

Rathore while Dr. Vijay Kumar Taneja was given honourary degree.
During the convocation ceremony, Nivedita Singh, Niti Lakhani and Asha Kumari were honoured with University Gold Medal and Dr. MR Laxman Rao memorial Gold Medal while Neetu Garg was honoured with University Gold Medal. A total of 32 research scholars were awarded with Ph.D including while 17 students were given BFSC and 119 were MVSC certificates.
A total of 571 students were given BVSC and AH degrees.
Earlier, guests inaugurated the convocation ceremony by lighting traditional lamps and worship of goddess Saraswati. Inaugural ceremony was followed by playing melodious tunes of national anthem by brass band group. In his welcome address, Vice-chancellor, Dr. Prayag Datt Juyal detailed about the high standard of veterinary education and research works in the university. He department wise informed about several achievements of the university and projected works for better service to society and veterinary services.
