55th State-level annual sports competition of police concludes

DGP R K Shukla said that winners of competition will represent Madhya Pradesh in All India Police Sports meet. He hoped that in future also, players from Madhya Pradesh police will give their best performance

The 55th State Level Annual Sports Competition of Madhya Pradesh police concluded at Lal Parade ground in state capital on Monday. Sports and youth welfare minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia presented award to winner players.


On this occasion, DGP RK Shukla congratulated the players. Addressing the function, Sports Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia said that by seeing the performance of participating players of police it seems that there is no dearth of talent in sports.


Stressing on women empowerment, she told that participation of women players should increase in sports. She was of the view that trainers of sports department can give training to talented players of police.

Earlier, band welcomed the Chief Guest. Later, final of 100 meter race and 400 m relay race was held. In 100 m race, Pushpendra Kumar of SAF, North Zone Gwalior bagged the
first position.


In this competition, players of all eight zones have taken the part. Events such as football, volleyball, handball, basket ball, hockey, athletics, kabbadi, weight lifting, judo and boxing were held in this competition.
