The 52nd Mayor lists development and transparency as top priorities

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will work on the agenda of development and transparent functioning in the local body, assured newly elected Mayor Nanda Jichkar while addressing a gathering after taking reins from outgoing Mayor Pravin Datke on Monday morning.


A function was organised at greenery at Civil Lines office of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC). Newly elected Deputy Mayor Deepraj Pardikar took over reins from the outgoing Deputy Mayor Satish Hole at a function.
Former Mayor Pravin Datke, BJP City President Sudhakar Kohle, Legislators Sudhakar Deshmukh, Prof. Anil Sole, Vikas Kumbhare, ruling party leader in NMC Sandip Joshi, chief of NMC’s Standing Committee Sandeep Jadhav, former ruling party leader in NMC Dayashankar Tiwari, Municipal Commissioner Shrawan Hardikar, Additional Commissioner Dr Ramnath Sonwane, former Mayors Archana Dehankar, Vasundhara Masurkar, Pushpa Ghode, Maya Iwnate, Kalpana Pande and others were present.


Jichkar, while expressing her views, said, she never knew that the party would give her such a great responsibility. Women have power to give justice to every one and this time total 61 women corporators are from BJP and they will work in a transparent manner for development of the city. The Constitution of India has given a chance to woman to represent in the field of politics for welfare of the city. It is our responsibility to complete the developmental work undertaken by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. Deputy Mayor Deepraj Pardikar also expressed his views.


City BJP President and BJP MLA Sudhakar Kohle while welcoming new Mayor and Deputy Mayor said, Jichkar has worked in the organisation and she has a fairly long experience to redress the grievances of citizens. She will definitely give justice to the city, he hoped.


Former Mayor Pravin Datke said, the ruling party worked in an alliance during last 10 years. For the first time, people of Nagpur have given an overwhelming majority to the party and Nanda Jichkar will fulfill the aspirations of three million Nagpurians.
