RDU’s convocation ceremony organised in grand manner

Chancellor and other guests offered floral tributes to the Gond Queen Rani Durgavati statue.
National Cadet Corp (NCC) and National Service Scheme (NSS), gave guard of honour to the guests. The group photo with the academics and executive counsellor was also held.
Guests also released one colourful souvenir, annual calendar of RDU and Research journal.
The band gave outstanding performance of national anthem.
The 29th Convocation of Rani Durgavati University (RDU), was held in a grand manner, at Pandit Kunjilal Dubey Auditorium, on Monday. The entire RDU premise was decorated beautifully for welcoming the guest and felicitating to the meritorious students and PhD holders. In which, 48 gold medals presented to students for academic session, 2013, 49 gold medals presented to students of academic session, 2014. 190 PhD degrees were presented. D lit presented to 2 scholars and DSc present to one student. All the gold medallist wore black and golden gown while PhD Holders donned red gown. It's a matter of pride that Shikha Jha student of mathematics who won highest eight gold medals, while, Yogesh Praveen Yagney won seven gold medals in MSc. Chief guest on the occasion was, Justice, Umesh Chandra Maheshwari, Lokayukt Madhya Pradesh, while, Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Professor, Om Prakash Kohli presided over the function, and Vice-Chancellor, RDU, Professor, Kapil Deo Mishra also graced the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice, Umesh Chandra Maheshwari recalled the names of great personalities of city like, Rishi Jabali, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Jagadguru Shankracharya Swami Saraswati, Baba Kalyandas, Mahamandleshwar Swami, Dr. Shaymdas, Acharya Rajneesh (Osho), Pandit Dwarkaprasad Mishra and Pandit Kunjivihari Dubey, who was the first Vice-Chancellor of RDU and this university established in the year 1956. Now, university celebrated its 29th convocation in great manner. He also recited Sanskrit Shalok and then informed it's meaning also. He also highlighted the importance of education, and how education is important for developing culture and tradition. He also informed about 'Guru Shishya Parampara', where, teacher was dedicated for the success of their students. He also informed about difference between teachers. He emphasized to students for extending their duties for the development of nation. Lastly, he congratulated to all degree holders and gold medallist.
Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Om Prakash Kohli said that " I felt very happy to invite in this convocation ceremony of University. The name of this University was given after Rani Durgavati, who was the Gond Queen". Large number of tribal caste and other back ward class are resided in Madhya Pradesh. Despite of lack of education in Gond society, the people of this society extended valuable contribution for the development of state. Now, the work and positive efforts are being initiated for the development of this society. In which, RDU, is playing an important role for imparting education for every one. Numbers of colleges located in Katni, Seoni, Mandla, Dindori, Balaghat, and other tribal areas. He also emphasized to students that the youth should responsible for the development of nation. He extended best wishes to all students for their bright future.
At the outset of the program, Vice-Chancellor RDU, Professor, Kapil Deo Mishra accorded warm welcome to all invited guests. The guests reached to offer floral tribute to the statue of Rani Durgavati. Thereafter, the Convocation procession was taken out which was followed by chanting Diksha ' Upnished", by 12 Batuk. The Convocation procession was an eye catching ceremony.
Registrar, R. K. Baghel presented brief report of function. He also accorded warm welcome by presenting floral bouquets.
Thereafter, Vice-Chancellor, RDU, Professor Kapil Deo Mishra said that it is a matter of pride that we are celebrating 29th convocation ceremony in a grand manner. He highlighted the ongoing working, results, examination and other program of RDU. He said that we always initiated efforts for executing best work in RDU. Soon, more works would be started under various schemes.
Vice-Chancellor, Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture University (JNAU), Professor, V. S. Tomar, Vice-Chancellor, Professor, L.K. Lokwani, Executive Council members, Professors, HODs, and other eminent personality of city were present.
