Bodies of tribal youths exhumed on orders of HC

The bodies of two tribal youths including a girl killed in an encounter on January 28 were exhumed on the order of High Court here recently.
According to the report, the family members terming the encounter as fake, filed a petition in the High Court. The court ordered a repost-mortem followed by a magisterial enquiry on March 2.

DD Mahant has been appointed as the Investigating Officer under whose leadership a team of doctors and administrative officials left for Gela village, where the bodies of the deceased were buried. After travelling for 25 kilometres under the safety cover of Police Officer Dhirendra Patel, the bodies were exhumed on March 6, in the presence of the family members, villagers and social activists. The entire process was videographed and filmed for reference. The bodies were carried by the team to Kirandul and the repost-mortem was performed. On March 8 the last rites were performed.
