A one-day seminar on ‘Behtar Kal Ke Liye Mahila Sashaktikaran’ organised by crime against women branch on International Women’s Day was inaugurated at Police Training and Research Institute (PTRI) on Wednesday.
Urban Administration Minister Maya Singh and Home Minister Bhupendra Singh inaugurated the seminar. Additional Director General (ADG) crime against women branch Aruna Mohanrao presented saplings to the guests on the occasion.
Home Minister Bhupendra Singh addressing on the occasion said, that maximum efforts for women empowerment has been made in Madhya Pradesh. Singh said, “Our culture is to respect women and due to the government efforts they are excelling in several fields”. He said, several projects are being run for the protection and security of the women in Madhya Pradesh and even Prime Minister Narendra Modi has commended Nirbhaya Project of MP.
Urban Administration Minister Maya Singh said, that women police officers in the State are doing commendable work and it matter of pride for the State. Minister said, now there are number of women police officers in the State and they are performing their duty well. Maya Singh said, that Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is sensitive and calling Mahila Panchayat had made 14 announcements taking immediate action on the suggestions. Later, in the year 2015, Chief Minister made 27 announcements including child care leave for women.
Home Minister Bhupendra Singh and Urban Administration Minister Maya Singh dedicated facebook page and SOS App prepared by crime against women branch. ADG Aruna Mohanrao said that this app will help in registering complaints. Women can send suggestions to police.
Police officials including ADG Adarsh Katiyar, the then IG of Balaghat, DC Sagar, Betul SP Rakesh Jain, Seoni SP A K Pandey, Chhatarpur SP Lalit Shakyawar, Singrauli SP Rudolph Alwarej, Jhabua SP Mahesh Chandra Jain, Harda SP Aditya Pratap Singh, Badwani SP Prashant Khare, SP Manisha Soni Pathak, Satyendra Singh Tomar, Sunita Cornelius, Inspector Anita Kadam and others were also felicitated for their outstanding work in checking crime against women.
