On the occasion of International Women’s Day, a programme was organised by “Uday Shahari Basti Development Society” at St Raphael’s School on Thursday.
Total 335 women participated in the programme with great fervour. The foremost motto of the programme was to give platform to the women, so that they can bring forth their views on the rights they should be given. DSP Sunita Kalaeniya was the chief guest of the occasion. She informed about the number 1090 and asked that if any women are undergoing exploitation like domestic violence, rape etc can report on this number. Even the children and the senior citizen can also report.

Archna Parmar, Corporator of Ward No 55 stated that, women should use their rights, and if they confront any kind of problems it should be reported to their locality ward. Journalist Lajjashankar Hardania said, that the women should raise their voice for their rights. Women have the right to live, to speak and to be protected in this society.
Co-ordinator of Uday Society Sister Rosely said that, women should be empowered then only there will be an alteration in the society.
The entire staff of Uday Society organised the programme, they even kept diverse sports competition and gave first, second, and third prizes to the winners. On the contrary the women related to the domestic employment trade union, were also distributed union trade card.
