Blast Furnace Mishap: Injured employee Airlifted to Mumbai

Abraham Rajeev Koshy, Technician in Blast Furnaces of BSP who sustained eighty
per cent burn injuries in the mishap in Blast Furnace# 4 that occurred on April 19, has been airlifted to National Burn Centre, Mumbai on Thursday evening.


Koshy who had suffered the maximum burn injuries in the mishap has been airlifted to Mumbai in an air-ambulance for better treatment at the National Burn Centre. Koshy was moved to Raipur Airport in BSP Ambulance at around 4.00 pm in the evening and was being accompanied by Dr Mene, Consultant, Burn & Plastic Surgery at BSP’s JLN Hospital and RC along with one of his relative. CEO BSP, M Ravi personally monitored the process of shifting the burn victim to Mumbai.


Here it needs to be mentioned that along with the other injured persons, Koshy was undergoing treatment at the Advanced Burn Care Unit of the JLN Hospital and Research Centre.


M Ravi along with ED (Works) TB Singh visited JLN Hospital in the early morning hours today to enquire about the health condition of the injured.
The other seven injured persons are being provided the best treatment under the supervision and watchful eyes of the team of doctors and specialists of JLN Hospital & RC.
