Gang of minors involved in various burglaries at twin city busted

IN a major breakthrough, Crime Branch sleuths busted the gang of minors involved in as many as thirteen burglaries and confiscated stolen valuables worth Rs 5.4 lakh cumulatively from their possession. In this connection the police cell team nabbed seven including six minors involved in the burglaries occurred in twin city of Bhilai and Durg in the recent past.


Police sources informed that the major accused in the gang was identified as Shubham Yadav alias Mahesh and Motu (20), a resident of Deepak Nagar, Durg. The police said that the gang of minors was involved in eight burglaries reportedly occurred in Supela and Mohan Nagar police stations’ limits and the police recovered stolen valuables including cash, computers, CPUs, UPSs, gold ornaments, mobile phones etc from possession of the gang members. The police also recovered a couple of two-wheelers being used by the gang members for committing crimes and transporting stolen valuables.


While in the similar crime the police also nabbed a minor who was involved in five burglaries occurred in Ashish Nagar, Milpara and Risali in Newai Police Station limits and confiscated the stolen articles including a mope, perfumes and 30 kilograms of rice etc from his possession.


While elaborating on the modus operandi of the juveniles the police said that they used to conduct racky in daytime
while targeting locked houses and shops in isolated areas and commit burglaries during early hours.


The police cell handed over the accused gang members along with the stolen valuables recovered from their possession to the police station concerned for further legal action in the matter. The police have registered the offence against the accused under sections 457 and 380 of Indian Penal Code for indulging in the criminal acts of committing trespass and stealing from a closed place. The police are further investigating the matter.
