Now the way is clear for construction of road from Gautamji Ki Madia to Anand Kunj. The anti-encroachment department of Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC), on Tuesday conducted drive on the route and removed a large number of permanent structures which were hindering road widening work in Garha area.

The anti-encroachment squad dismantled nearly 50 permanent structures including boundary walls, walls, entrance gate, platforms and others such structures. Though after JMC’s warning people had already removed illegal portion of their houses but many people were still waiting for JMC’s action. Hence to remove the hindrances, the anti-encroachment squad, on Tuesday conducted drive and razed the portion of houses, which were coming within the limit of road widening work.

It may be noted that the widening work of the road from Gautamji Ki Madia to Anand Kunj is lying pending since two years. Since approval the JMC was paying no heed to construction of the road. The negligence has deteriorated the condition of the road. Apart from that the sewer line laying work which was done on the route had also turned the condition of the road from bad to worse. People were facing much inconvenience due to bad condition of the road.

Senior officials of the department informed that the Municipal Corporation is widening the main road from Gautamji Ki Madia to Anand Kunj to 36 feet. They said a large number of illegal structures were coming within the proposed limit. Hence to remove the obstacles, the anti-encroachment squad conducted drive and dismantled a large number of permanent structures including boundary walls, side walls, rooms, platforms and other strictures on both sides of the road. They said the JMC would soon start road widening work.
