Minor nabbed in theft case, valuables worth Rs 3 lakh confiscated

CRIME BRANCH sleuths rounded up a minor in connection with the burglary reported from the shop of Akashganga Complex, Supela, Bhilai and confiscated stolen valuables worth Rs 3 lakh cumulatively from his possession.


The police cell handed over the case to the police station concerned for further legal action in the matter.
Police sources informed that after information of burglary at Khushi Daily Needs shop at Akashganga, Supela, Bhilai, the police cell team swung into action and during investigation the police officials succeeded in apprehending a minor who during interrogation confessed to his involvement in the burglary and on his instances the police also recovered the stolen valuables including a television, a DVR, a photocopy machine, two cylinders, an emergency light etc. In this connection the police cell team also confiscated a four-wheeler which was used by the minor for transporting the stolen valuables. The police said that the minor was serving as an attendant at the shop and he committed the crime after obtaining duplicate keys. He also disclosed before the police that he committed the offence after the monetary dispute with the shop-owner.


The police have registered the offence under sections 457 and 380 of Indian Penal Code for indulging in the criminal acts of committing trespass and committing theft crime at a closed place.The police are further investigating the crime.
