RPF busts gang of thieves, 3 arrested

THANKS to the vigilant stance of Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, three miscreants targeted sleeping passengers from Rajendra Nagar - LTT Superfast Train (12141). RPF ambush team caught them near Railway bridge number 1. The three miscreants allegedly got down from the running train of coach number S2, 4 and 6. Success came forth for RPF when they got information by one of the RPF members about the suspected miscreants who boarded the train soon after it stopped at Jabalpur around 00:30 hours, on Wednesday.

According to information, three miscreants boarded a superfast train and stole valuables of passengers. They were nabbed by vigilant RPF team. RPF team kept an eye on the movement of passengers suspecting foul deed informed by their fellow teammates who had taken position near Railway bridge number 1. After the train departed from Jabalpur, three miscreants boarded the sleeper coaches of the train.

RPF ambush team caught the miscreants and brought them to RPF post, they were subjected to interrogation. Miscreants caught were identified as Usman Gulab (20), resident of Pasiyana Masjid, Gohalpur, Mohamed Salim Mehmood Ansari (30), a resident of Bada Kabristhan, Sindhi camp Hanumantal Thana and Amar Shankarlal Gupta (28), resident of Bai Ka Bagicha street number 3 Ghamapur thana.

In course of interrogation, the miscreants confessed of boarding the train, stealing mobile set and other valuables of passengers, they managed to step down from the train near bridge number 1. Miscreants revealed that they stole goods from the running train forming a group of three. Valuables stolen by the miscreants are 6 mobile sets worth Rs 23,000 along with purse, ATM cards, and cash worth Rs 20,000 from the passengers.

The three miscreants caught by RPF ambush team were handed over to GRP who have registered case under relevant section.
