Aam Aadmi Party’s Kisan Bachao campaign reached Neemuch on 11th day. On this occasion, Alok Agrawal, convener of AAP Madhya Pradesh unit, met farmers in mandi and also organised public hearing in which various issues were discussed.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) launched a yatra on May 1 to highlight the problems being faced by farmers in Madhya Pradesh and also to interact with them. During the 42-day-long ‘Kisan Bachao Yatra’ (Save Farmers March), AAP leaders and volunteers will travel across 130 Assembly segments spread over 51 districts and interact with agriculturists and highlight problems being faced by them.

As per them on an average, five farmers have been committing suicide every day due to debt burden and overall, there is a debt burden of Rs 20,000-crore on farmers in the state and this yatra mainly highlights the plight of farmers and is against imposing tax on agriculture income. The government should consider farm loan waiver and 10 point demands. The 10-point charter of demands included waiver of all agriculture loans, Rs 5 lakh assistance to the family of farmers who have committed suicide and 18-hour power supply to cultivators, among others.
