Labour unions to stage massive demonstration on May 19

Expressing their concern over cut in the minimum wages of labourers working in organized and un-organised sectors members of various trade unions will massive stage massive demonstration at Budha Talaab on May 19. Later members will submit memorandum to Governor and Chief Minister.

According to Chhattisgarh Labour Munch Convener Rajkumar Gupta there is resentment among labourers regarding cutting of Rs 50 from the minimum wages as per approved by the state government. He alleged that industrialists are openly violating safety norms, which has resulted into rise in industrial accident in the state. He appealed to state government that immediate steps should been taken to hike the minimum wage amount or the labourers will launched massive state-wide agitation.

Present during the were members of various trade unions including Sahdev Sahu, S R Netam, Gambir Sahu, Uttam Chandrakar, Pankaj Das, Prabhunath Mishra, B K Rao, Kaladas Daheriya, Jaiprakash Nair and Kalpana Patel.
