Ravindranath Tagore’s Geetanjali on rock band, audience impressed

City-based rock band ‘Bandishe’ of talented youths that was started its journey from 2012 is now as well-known rock band, performed Ravindranath Tagore’s poems from Geetanjali, at Bharat Bhawan, on Thursday. Thursday was the concluding day of Ravindra Natya, Sangeet Samaroh-2017, organised by Ravindra Amateur Natya Group. The Antrang, auditorium, Bharat Bhawan was jam-packed, on the concluding day of three day theatre and music festival.


It was pleasing performance and seemed the singers worked very hard in presenting Ravindra Nath Tagore’s poems in Rock Band, one could not imagine it but it was done under the direction of Reena Sinha, senior musician and theatre artist.


There were good team of young singers who impressively composed Ravindra Nath Tagore’s poems. Not only the singers, the instrumentalists also supported singers well.


Every poem from Geetanjali, the Bandishe selected to sing was sweet and listening, it directly impacted mind of the audience. The festival started from play ‘Boby’, concluded with ‘Geetanjali’. Poems talked about natural beauty, human sentiments and contemporary social aspects beautifully.


Those who sang the poems from Geetanjali included Reena Sinha herself, Nupur Gupta, Aparna Soni, Prerna Mishra, Archi Shrivastava, Angela Swami, Anushka Dhar, Muskan Suryavanshi, Amisha Shrivastava, Preeti Modak, Rahila Hasan, Anandam Malviya, Chandan Parochia, Himanshu Chaudhary, Ranju Varghese, Yash Sharma, Shivam Modak, Abhay Singh, Saurav Peria, Sahil Jain, Ritik Gupta, Ajo Maithu, Mohit Sharma, Smmarth Fradik, Shivalaya Kapoor and Sparsh Tripathi. Pranav Pradeep on Synthesizer and Shubham Gupta on Tabla adequately supported the singers.
