Shifting of dairies to be completed by June 15

On Thursday during the hearing at National Green Tribunal with regards to dairy shifting ultimatum has been given to authorities to carry out the process by June 15 .

There are around 750 dairies which need to be shifted .Earlier SDM Disha Nagvanshi and Bmc commissioner Chhavi Bhardwaj informed that that as approval from cabinet they have not received yet , dairy shifting process is taking time .

Existing dairy farms are regularly inspected by Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board. However when it comes to shifting of dairies from city limit process is yet to catch pace. It has to be mentioned that earlier during the hearing with regards to dairy farm pollution Green Tribunal has decided that existing dairies in Bhopal will be shifted out of the city limits, as the civic body has submitted before the green panel that five sites have been identified for the purpose. Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) submitted before the National Green Tribunal (NGT) earlier that all existing dairies falling within its jurisdiction of 85 wards in 19 zones would be shifted outside the existing city limits. For this, five sites were identified in consultation with dairy owners namely - Gram Nathu Barkheda, Bhadbhada Road; Gram Kalapani, Kolar Road; Gram Dipdhi, Bhojpur bypass, (outside the municipal limits); Gram Parwalia, Narsinghpur and Gram Arwalia, Berasia Road, Lambakheda.

It was directed in the process of formulating a policy for relocation of all the dairies operating within the city of Bhopal which as per them is 750.

It was stated that an area measuring 46.47 acres had been first identified at Malikheda for relocation of the dairies but, on account of the grievance expressed by the dairy owners the proposals has now been changed and, seven other
areas have been identified other than Malikheda.
