Two days back, student activists of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) also staged protest for the same issue and thereatened to avoid campus shifting. Vice Chancellor assured students to call EC meet on May 11 and discuss the matter. Officials were suppose to decide the issue in EC meet. However, meeting was cancelled by officials at the eleventh hour.

“University officials are not answering us and even they denied to meet us. Management should inform students first that they are planing to shift the university 25 kilometers away before finalising the proposal,” said Vivek Tripathi, NSUI. He further said the building is being shifted to a campus which is 3 km away from bus stop.

No previous information has been given to the students or staff. Tripathi said, university management should release tender for bulding or get their own campus but do not bother students by shifting university 25 km away. Studens said new campus is far away from city and there is big issue with transportation. Sources said university staff are also raising question for bulding rent.

University Vice Chancellor Mohan Lal Chipa said, “DHE has ordered to shift the building so we are nobody to denied the same. Own bulding is being constructed and soon problem will be resolved.” Faculties are not agreed with the high rent of new building. The university has to pay Rs 84 lakh per year as rent.

There were also proposal to shift the building at Benajeer College campus. The university has started constructing its own building in Mugaliya Kot and it would take about 2 years in construction.
