Awareness programme on occupational health hazards organised at OHS Conference Hall

A health awareness programme on occupational health hazards and its Management was inaugurated on Sunday at OHS Conference Hall by S K Gupta GM and Chief Medical Services(CMS) and Brajesh Agrawal, AGM(HRDC) and CPIO.
During his Inaugural Speech, CMS said that by organising such programs OHS/Health department, not only provides knowledge to maintain healthy life but also updates about various protective techniques from Hazards, Common life style and Occupational Diseases. He also said that Kasturba Hospital also arranges special programmes on other diseases like Hypertension, Diabetes. He appreciated team of OHS for keeping such program s for the benefit of life of employees at work place itself.


On this occasion, Brajesh Agarwal, AGM (HRDC) & CPIO highlighted the importance of such programmes and said more and more employees should attend such programs and should avail the benefits of the same not only for their own health but also for the benefit of family members and colleagues.
Dr V K Onkar, DGM and In-charge, OHS, briefed about the programme and the subject inputs and beneficiaries in past years. He has also explained the importance and different activities of OHS.


R D Bharadwaj, Sr. Officer and Training Coordinator – OHS, conducted the program and also highlighted the importance of such program. In the end, he gave vote of thanks to GM and CMS, AGM HRDC and special thanks to participants and to all who has given inputs to organised successfully such programme.


It has to be mentioned that occupational hazards can be divided into two categories: safety hazards that cause accidents that physically injure workers, and health hazards which result in the development of disease. The key industries particularly in Madhya Pradesh include cement, textile, mining and edible oils where good number of employees are suffering from hearing problems and breathing difficulties which in long run turns into permanent deafness or also acute asthma respectively in case if no precautions is being taken.
