Burglar nabbed with valuables worth Rs 35,000

CRIME BRANCH sleuths nabbed a burglar and confiscated stolen valuables worth Rs 35,000 from his possession in Bhilai. The police cell team handed over the accused along with the stolen valuables recovered from his possession to the police station concerned for further legal action in the matter.

Police sources informed that the accused was identified as Mukesh Sahu (19), a resident of Kabirdham. The police said that on being apprehended the accused Mukesh Sahu confessed to his involvement in the burglary during interrogation into the police custody and on his instances the police cell team also recovered the stolen computer set including a CPU, monitor, keyboard, two computer mousse and a UPS from his possession.

The police said that as per confession of the accused Mukesh Sahu, he was the student of the fire safety school of Indira Nagar, Supela, Bhilai and he indulged in the criminal act of burglary with the intention of causing financial loss to his school’s Manager, Ravi Soni as the mobile phone of the accused was stolen while he was in school. The accused also disclosed in his confession that he had stolen the computer set from the school and hidden the stolen valuables in his house in Kabirdham while on leave.

The offence of burglary was reportedly occurred at the fire safety school during intervening nights of Thursday and Friday and on complaint Vaishali Nagar Police Post had registered the offence.

The police have registered the offence against the accused under section 457 and 380 of Indian Penal Code for indulging in the criminal acts of committing trespass and stealing from a closed place.
