Sultry weather, scorching heat torment people in MP

In its forecast, Weather Department said heat wave is likely to persist in sundry parts of Rewa, Chhattarpur and Damoh districts

The weather conditions continue to be sultry in State. In last twenty-four hours, weather remained dry in maximum parts of State. However, isolated places of Rewa recorded light rainfall. Meanwhile, Rewa, Chhattarpur and Damoh remained in the grip of heat wave. On Thursday, Bhopal’s maximum temperature settled at 41.3 degrees Celsius.


In its forecast, Weather Department said heat wave is likely to persist in sundry parts of Rewa, Chhattarpur and Damoh districts.


Duststorm accompanied by thunder activities are likely in isolated places of Gwalior, Chambal, Hoshangabad and Shahdol divisions and Sidhi, Singrauli and Damoh districts.
The day temperatures fell in substantial manner in Chambal division, but there was no major change in maximum temperatures of other region. The maximum temperatures were significantly high from normal level in Rewa, Shahdol, Sagar and Jabalpur division.


The highest maximum temperature of 45 degrees Celsius was recorded in Rewa, Khajuraho and Damoh.
Bhopal witnessed bright day and as usual, scorching heat gave tough time to people. Now people are fed up of sultry and hotter weather condition.


The normal life has been adversely affected due to long spell of extreme heat in State. Hot winds coming from adjoining state Rajasthan have increased temperature in State.
As the summer has reached its peak, hence demand of cold drinks and fruits has increased by leaps and bounds all over Madhya Pradesh.


People are consuming lot of liquid to protect themselves from sunstroke and summer related diseases.
The maximum temperatures of other places included Indore 40.6 degrees Celsius, Gwalior 41.1 degrees Celsius, Jabalpur 42.2 degrees Celsius, Khajuraho 42.4 degrees Celsius etc. Over all, day temperatures are above 40 degrees Celsius in State.


The nights are also uncomfortable in many parts of State as the minimum temperature is above 26 degrees Celsius.
