2 children among 3 killed in bus accident

When the bus was passing through Doli Ghat early morning on Thursday, the driver lost control over speeding bus and it was overturned

In a tragic incident, three persons, including a woman, and two adolescent children were killed while 23 persons were injured when a speeding bus was overturned at Doli Ghat in village Raja Imlai under the jurisdiction of Kundam police station.


Deceased have been identified as Pushpa Bai Jharia (50), resident of Prem Nagar in Garha, Anshu Jharia (9), resident of village Kashi Mehgavan in Barela and Om Barman (8), resident of LIC square in Garha.


Injured have been identified as Mango Bai Jharia (60), Santoshi Bai Jharia (15), Halku Ram Jharia (65), Ammavati Jharia (65), Chhoti Bai Jharia (35), Mehak Jharia (12), Babli Bai Jharia (30), Kau Barman (7), Sudama Bai Jharia (45), Devki Bai Jharia (65), Anguri Bai Jharia (28), Adarsh Vishwakarma (25), Bina Jharia (58), Shanti Bai Jharia (35), Sapni Bai Jharia (50), Ahilya Bai Jharia (48), Abhishek Barman (15), Renuka Pradhan (28) and Sarla Thakur (42).


According to Kundam police, they received information of a road accident at Doli Ghat in village Raja Imlai. Receiving the information, police team reached the spot and rushed the injured with the help of Dial 100 and 108 Ambulance Service of Barela, Kundam and Khamaria at Government Hospital Kundam, Victoria Hospital and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College and Hospital.


Police informed that three passengers including a woman and two children were succumbed to their critical injuries on the spot of accident.


According to an injured named Diksha Barman (23), a resident of LIC square, Garha she along with other family members was returning in a bus registration number MP-20PA-0538 after attending birthday programme of child at residence of Rajkumari Bai Jharia in village Supawara. When the bus was passing through Doli Ghat early morning on Thursday, the driver lost control over speeding bus and it was overturned. Acting on the complaint, Kundam police have registered a case under Sections 304 (A), 279 and 337 of the IPC and started a search for the accused bus driver who managed to escape from spot after the accident.
