GRP nabs 9 out of 10 accused involved in abducting kids, selling girls

Seven cases of child trafficking and selling girls disclosed. Three children and four girls rescued

IN A major breakthrough, GRP Jabalpur nabbed nine out of 10 accused, including three women, of a gang involved in abducting children and selling girls by alluring them for marriage. Police have disclosed seven cases of child trafficking and selling girls and rescued three children and four girls from the accused.


The accused have been identified as Krishna Kumar Patel (30), son of Dayaliram Patel, a resident of Ward No-14, Lakhram Mohalla, Tilak Ward in Khitola, Sihora, Sunita alias Sangeeta Kumhar, wife of Bablu Kumhar, resident of Khitola, Sihora, Arjun Bhumia, his wife Sunita Bhumia, Rajendra Dangi, Jagdish Ahirwar, Dinesh Bairagi (30), son of Tulsi Das Bairagi, resident of Rajakhera in Dhaulpur, Rajasthan, Santosh Sen while Meena Sen, resident of Rajasthan is still at large.


Superintendent of Rail Police, Jabalpur, Savita Suhane disclosed this while addressing a press conference on Monday. SRP Savita Suhane informed that on March 8, Puja Sahu (25), wife of Rinku Sahu, resident of Khiriya village in Madla, Damoh district filed a complaint at GRP Sagar that she along with her husband and two children were waiting for a passenger train at Damoh Railway Station and slept at platform near waiting room and another couple along with a girl were sleeping near them. Early in the morning, she woke up and found that her 3-year-old son Kuldeep was missing and the couple and their child were also missing.


Taking a serious note on the complaint, SRP Savita Suhani constituted a team under supervision of DSP, SPS Dabar and Deputy SRP B S Gautharia comprising SI A K Maravi, ASI B S Parihar, Head Constable, Mahesh Kumar, Padamdhar Pyasi and Surendra Dhawan for further investigations.


Investigating the case, police team questioned auto-rickshaw owners and obtained some leads about the suspected couple. On identification of onlookers, police team succeeded in finding the accused and rescued Kuldeep Sahu. In further investigation, accused named Krishna Kumar Patel and Sunita alias Sangeeta, wife of Bablu Kumhar confessed to have abducted another 2-year-old girl named Kulshum who was presented before the court and sent to Child Care Centre, Sagar.

Later, mother of Kulsum named Rizwana identified her daughter who was abducted from platform-5 at Katni Railway Station. The accused man and woman disclosed third case of stealing a 2.6-year-old girl named Sofia, daughter of Neha Ansari, a resident of Hanumantal Jabalpur, from Katni Railway Station, on June 26, 2016. The girl was rescued by GRP team comprising of ASI, KL Pandey and Constable, Riyaz.


Krishna Kumar and Sangeeta informed that they allured a girl named Rekha alias Rani at Sihora Railway Station for marriage and sold her with help of Arjun Bhumia and his wife Sunita Bhumia to Rajendra Dangi in Tikamgarh district for Rs 40,000. On their identification, GRP team succeeded in rescuing the girl and arrested the accused.


In another case, accused allured a girl named Shivkumar alias Sandhya for marriage and sold her to Rajendra Dangi for Rs 25,000 who later sold her to Jagdish Ahirwar, a resident of village Kanchanpura in Tikamgarh.

In the third case, Krishna Kumar and Sunita disclosed to have sold a girl named Neha through Rajendra Dangi to Ghanshyam Kushwaha for Rs 30,000. GRP Jabalpur teams succeeded in rescuing all the sold girls and succeeded in apprehending Arjun Bhumia, his wife Sunita Bhumia, Rajendra Dangi, Jagdish Ahirwar, Ghanshyam Kushwaha and Santosh Sen, while another accused named Meena Sen is still at large.

The cases were brilliantly solved under direction of SRP Savita Suhane under supervision of DSP B S Gothariya by police team comprising SHO M L Barman, SI Meena Thakur, ASI R S Thakkar, ASI Naseem Bano, ASI Neelkanth Dubey, Head Constables Parmulal Yadav, Sushil Singh, Ajay Shrivastava, SHO, Anil Maravi, ASI, Brijendra Singh Parihar, Gayatri Warkade, Mariyam Merry, Manisha Yadav, Chhaya Vishwakarma, Padma, Rajkumar Mehra, Kailash Daheria and Nitin Dubey.
