RMC razes illegal structures on Banjari road

Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) Zone-7 staff razed illegal structures on the highly congested Banjari road and near Chikni Mandir on Tuesday. As many as 3 such unauthorized structures were levelled in the anti-encroachment action.
According to Zone-7 Commissioner Santosh Pandey, anti-encroachment squad comprising engineers, labourers under the security cover by Police personnel carried out the demolition.


RMC Commissioner Rajat Bansal has ordered all Zone Commissioners to immediately notify the encroachers in their respective zones and raze the unauthorized structures.
Regarding Tuesday’s drive, Zone-7 Commissioner Santosh Pandey said that two men Neeraj Kumar and Nirmal Kumar Jain had built unauthorized structures in their eatery named Alka Restaurant. They were served notices warning him to remove the illegal structure voluntarily prior initiating the demolition work.


Similarly, a shop belonging to one Sumeet Khandelwal near Banjari Mandir had developed another shop on the first floor without acquiring due permission. He too was served notice before the demolition by authorities. Third unauthorized structure was built by Waqil Ahmed and Aqil Ahmed behind Banjari temple. They had developed two illegal storeys on their buildings without proper documentation and approval. All these illegal structures were razed with the help of labourers and machines under the security of police.
