INTUC flays Govt for making anti-labour policies

A three-point action programme to oppose the anti labour policies of the Government has been finalised in a programme organised on the eve of celebration of 70th INTUC Foundation Day in the Central Office of Rashtriya Koyla Khadan Mazdoor Sangh (INTUC). The programme was chaired by veteran INTUC leader Haribhau Naik.

S Q Zama, Vice-President, INTUC who lead the discussion session, declared the three-point programme i.e. fighting for the rights of contract and agency labour against their exploitation by the Government and the management. Secondly, to approach the concerned Government for changing the policies which is being imposed on the working force. Necessary step by way of agitation to be taken in case of negative approach by the Government.
Thirdly, to strengthen the INTUC at district as well as taluka level by organising the organised and unorganised workforce together. Zama further said that the contract and agency workers in Vidarbha were neither getting minimum wages nor having any coverage of social security including weekly off and medical coverage.

K K Singh from Chandrapur INTUC, Rajesh Nimbalkar from insurance sector, Dr Gajraj Hattewar from Maharashtra INTUC, Naseem Anwar, Haji Mohammad Aslam, Dadarao Dongre and Prakash Salunke also spoke on the occasion.
In his presidential speech, Haribhau Naik reminded the sacrifice made by the workforce in 1886 Chicago agitation and need of establishment the Congress union in India i.e. Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) on May 3, 1947. He guided the gathering as to how the organised and unorganised can be brought together on single platform. The organised sector however developed themselves by way of money and position but all unorganised workers around 25 crore remained without any gain. He also remembered the trade union activists from Nagpur who later lead the workforce of India. He requested the activists to take care of unorganised workforce by way of physical and monitory assistance.

Present were R K Chib, G V R Sarma, Pradeep Kokas, Javed Khan, coal sector members from Rashtriya Mill Mazdoor Sangh, INTUC insurance sector, INTUC defence sector and also from INTUC state transport besides large number of unorganised workforce.
