Crime, addiction-free ideal Sihoda village an example for all: Collector

THERE is a village where nobody commits crime, nobody drinks wine as ban on liquor has been implemented and no crime has been registered since year 2015.


The name of Gram Panchayat is Sihoda and Sarpanch is Meera Bai Parashuram. Aforesaid information was given to Additional Chief Secretary Deepak Khandekar and Collector Maheshchandra Choudhary during the special Gram Sabha conducted in the wake of Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday campaign at Gram Panchayat office Sihoda. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Harshika Singh was also present on the occasion. Sarpanch said that, both the villages are totally crime free, addiction free and Open Defecation Free. The officers were appraised about the fact that social solidarity is stronger in village and it free from evil like untouchability.


The ACS Deepak Khandekar got impressed by the information given by Sarpanch and termed them worth emulating. He sought to know whether the toilets constructed in village are being utilised. They replied that the villagers are utilising the available toilets and open defecation is not being noticed anywhere. He also sought information about he eligibility receipt and ration availability. He instructed that the officers should ensure that those who have eligibility receipt must be given the ration.


The ACS instructed that the survey should be conducted in the village and the Aadhaar seeding of the registered people on the Samagra Portal must be ensured. Collector Mahesh Chandra Choudhary also sought information aobut the pension being paid to the senior citizens. He sought to know whether the determined pension is being paid to them completely or not, if they were facing any problem in getting the pension.


The senior citizen women has said that they did not face any kind of inconvenience.


The ACS stressed on the need to increase the sources of income in the Gram Panchayat. He aksed the woman Sarpanch to speak without hesitation. The Sarpanch also expressed desire to increase the sources of income. They realised that the villagers had resolved their problems with the help of the administration. The ACS had called upon the villagers to plant the Banyan and Peepal saplings. About the crematorium Sarpanch said that both the shed and road have been constructed.


The instruction to impart training for entrance exam for admission in Model School was also given.
While moving towards the village Chedi of Patan development block, ACS Khandekar also inspected the standing crop of green bean and expressed satisfaction after inspecting the crop.
