Hansaraj Ahir, Union Minister of State (MoS) for Home, on Friday, revealed three-point agenda ahead of the crucial multi-state meeting in New Delhi where the anti-Naxal strategy will be reviewed. “The Union Government will focus on the strategy of safety of force operating in Naxal-affected area; prevention of Naxal attacks and development in Naxal area,” said Ahir while interacting with the reporters at Cure It Hospital.

Ahir, along with Minister of State for Home (Urban) Dr Ranjit Patil and MLA Dr Ashish Deshmukh, paid visit to Cure It Hospital where 18 injured jawans of Maharashtra Police are undergoing treatment. The jawans were injured in IED blast near Karampalli in Bhamragadh tehsil of Gadchiroli district on Wednesday.

Ahir said, the meeting would discuss strategy of anti-Naxal operations in the country and decide guidelines for future actions. The Maoist carried out the blast to loot weapons of the jawans. However, the brave jawans of Maharashtra Police retaliated and foiled the bid, he said.

When asked about comment over an audio clip circulated by the Naxal leadership against atrocity by the police in Chhattisgarh district, the Union Minister refuted the allegation and said, the ultras who are doing atrocities on tribals have no right to raise the issue.

Ahir said, Maharashtra Government is pumping ample funds for the anti-Naxal operations and it would be eradicated soon by implementing the agenda of development. “Their strategy is to stop development hence, they are carrying out such attacks,” he said.

Dr Ranjit Patil assured that best medical facilities would be offered to the injured jawans and action would be taken against those hospitals refusing to admit injured jawans.

Dr Roshan Bhivapurkar, Amruta Suchak and others were present at the press conference.
