CM dedicates building at Naya Raipur for Fire Brigade-Emergency Services

Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh on Friday dedicated administrative building of Fire Brigade and Emergency Services, Home Guards and SDRF services at Naya Raipur.

He also launched a toll-free Helpline number 101. Dr Raman Singh congratulated the officials for the launch. Chief Minister said that modern building with all facilities is now available for tackling emergency services. The centre will monitor the activities of Fire Brigade in the entire State. The facilities will prevent fatalities in fire mishaps and other accidents.

On the occasion Dr Raman Singh met SDRF and Fire Brigade personnel and examined the fire-fighting equipments. Home Minister Ramsewak Paikra, Parliamentary Secretary Labhchand Bafna, Principal Secretary (Home) B V R Subrahmanyam and several other concerned department officials were also present.

Chief Minister on the occasion dialed 101 to check the response time of taking and registering messages and he got a quick response from the operator who enquired about the place of incident, name, address and mobile number of the caller. With this the head quarters of Fire and Emergency Services started functioning from today onwards. From now on Home Guards will be tacking all kind of emergency situations like fire, etc.

On the occasion DG Jail & Home Guards Giridhari Nayak gave information about the new building which houses the head quarters of Fire Brigade and Emergency Services, Home Guards and SDRF services, which has been constructed under new norms with a cost of Rs 26 crore.
