MP Rakesh Singh distributes gas stoves, LPG cylinders under Ujjwala Yojana

MEMBER of Parliament Rakesh Singh, on Friday visited rural areas of Shahpura Mandal under Bargi Assembly. He also distributed gas stove and domestic LPG cylinders to women beneficiaries under Ujjwala Yojana. Addressing a programme organised on the occasion, Singh said, “Union Government’s schemes are proving beneficial for upliftment of poor, farmers, youths and women. He said Ujjwala Yojana would rid rural women of smoke and diseases caused due to it.”
Singh toured to as many as 13 village panchayats of Shahpura Mandal. He visited Umaria, Imalia, Naveen Chargava, Kusli, Sunachar, Gundarai, Saliwada, Mankedi, Hinotia, Piparia Kala, Bhairoghat, Patharia, and Karhaiya. During the visit, Member of Parliament also promised for development works to the tune of Rs 30 lakh from MP fund in the village panchayats.
Speaking further, he said women in rural areas still use firewood to cook meal for their family. They have to face smoke billows from traditional stoves. The smoke cause serious health hazards to women.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave due consideration to the problem of rural women. He got started Ujjwala Yojana to rid women of smoke. The Union government is distributing gas connection to women beneficiaries. Government has set a target of distributing 5 crore gas connections to the beneficiaries. So far nearly 2 crore connections have been provided to women.
Amongst those also present on the occasion were MLA Pratibha Singh, Neeraj Singh, Anurag Singh, Amit Tehguria, Yashpal Singh, Sandeep Shukla, Anil Tiwari, Anil Agrawal, Vicky Singh, Surendra Singh, Chhaya Jain and others.
