Inter-state gang of ATM fraud busted

Police have busted an inter-state gang of ATM fraud with the arrest of main accused and his accomplices here on Sunday.
According to the report, Crime Branch was tipped off that some suspicious persons were present near IDBI ATM. Crime Branch immediately swung into action and cordoned off the area.
Police nabbed the main suspect Umar Mohammed son of John Mohammed (32), resident of Firozpur Jhirka, District Nuh (Mewad), village Khada under Patna police station and seized his Swift car (CG12 AN/7031).
After intensive interrogation, accused Umar Mohammed revealed the names of his gang members Aslam Khan and Arif , residents of Gherbasai, Palpur under Tizara police station, District Alwar, Rajasthan and Mazhar alias Major and Shamim, residents of Mandapur village , Firozpur, Jhirka, Haryana and a local minor accused who identified the place for committing crime and made available vehicles.
They admitted to have committed several criminal cases in the district. Besides this, they defrauded lakhs committing such crimes in Korba, Surajpur and Bilaspur. They targeted the innocent people and hacked their ATMs.
On the information of Umar Mohammed, other members of the gang were Jamshed Khan son of Jaum alias Juma Khan (35), resident of Gherbasai, Palpur under Tizara police station, district Alwar, Rajasthan and the local minor from Katghora in Korba.
Crime Branch seized a Bolero, a Swift car and Swift Dzire car, total value around rupees 20 lakh and Rs 20,000 in cash and 12 ATM cards from different banks were recovered from their possession. Four members of the gang Aslam, Mazhar, Arif and Shamim are absconding. Police teams are being dispatched to Rajasthan and Haryana to nab the accused.
Surguja Range Inspector General of Police (IG) Himanshu Gupta while congratulating the entire team for nabbing the inter-state gang members announced Rs 10,000 prize.
