Three held for thefts in city, gold jewellery, cash, mobile phones, two-wheelers seized

JEHANGIRABAD police arrested three youths involved in committing thefts on Monday with the passengers travelling in auto-rickshaws. They confessed of snatching purses from two women carrying cash, mobile phones and gold jewellery.


SHO, Jehangirabad, Preetam Singh Thakur said that, those arrested were identified as Zishan (20), son of Shahid Ali, a resident of Talaiya area, Naved (23), son of Mohammad Shami who lives near Chahak Hospital in Moti Maszid area and Javed alias Sohrab (21), son of Kadar Khan of Balaipura in Kotwali area.


SHO Thakur added that firstly Zishan was arrested during vehicle checking drive near Neelam Park when looking after checking drive; he tried to spade away on his white Activa which was without registration number.


During interrogation, he confessed of snatching purse from a woman from near Home Guard office along with his accomplice Naved while she was travelling in an auto-rickshaw along with her family on April 6. They were chasing the rickshaw from Bhopal railway station. The woman’s purse consisted of a gold necklace, mobile phone and Rs 200 cash. Based on his inputs, a ladies purse, Intex mobile and Activa was seized from him.Later, police nabbed Naved who confessed that around 5 months ago, he along with Javed had also robbed a purse from a woman in similar way from Murgi Bazar in Jehangirabad.

 

The purse was carrying Rs 3,000 cash, a pair of gold earrings, finger ring, a pair of silver toe ring, Sony Xperia mobile and Titan watch. Apart from it, around one-and-a-half month ago they together robbed a mobile from a boy from near Jain temple.Subsequently, Javed was also apprehended and a gold necklace (20 gram), watch, other gold ornaments, mobile and a Platina bike (MP-04-MJ-1359) which was used by them has been seized by police.
