HCL, a leading global IT services company, on Thursday announced that it would soon hire 2,000 professionals. Through the commencement of its talent sourcing, training and hiring campaign called - ‘Stay Rooted’ - the company offers local residents a change to pursue global IT career opportunities. This also resonates with the company’s philosophy of making candidates job ready in their hometown.


It is important to note that the company is developing a state-of-the-art centre on a 50 acre land in MIHAN. The initiative is in sync with HCL’s strategic vision to expand and create opportunities in tier II cities across the country. As per a communiqué issued by the company, its foray in Nagpur is driven by the availability of quality local talent and scaleable infrastructure an aim to have a gender equal workforce.


Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Gupta, Senior Vice President of HCL Technologies said, “We are excited to start our operations in Nagpur as the city has emerged as a significant talent hub over a few years. This effort from HCL will offer local candidates an opportunity to develop global career in their own city without having a need to migrate to other places.”
The Stay Rooted campaign will focus on hiring fresh engineering graduates who will undergo six months training to take up the job. Applications for the training programme and candidates’ selection will be subject to their profile meeting specific eligibility and clearing assessments.
