Need to strengthen bank union movement: Ashok Vele

ASHOK M Vele, Chairman of Punjab National Bank Employees Union (PNBEU), Nagpur HQ was accorded warm farewell by the members of PNBEU on his retirement from the Bank service after putting up 34 years of unblemished service in the Punjab National Bank.

Vele, who has been actively associated with union activities since joining was rewarded with Deputy General Secretary’s post and went on to become General Secretary of PNBEU, Nagpur headquarter in December 2012. He was also Deputy General Secretary of Eastern Maharashtra Bank Employees Union (EMBEA) and Central Committee Member of (All India Punjab National Bank Employees Federation (AIPNBEF) which is an affiliated unit of AIBEA, a mighty organisation of bank employees. The programme was attended by employees of various branches from Vidarbha, Marathwada and Khandesh.

All of them hailed the contribution of Vele towards PNBEU, Nagpur in general and employees movement in particular during his banking service. His acumen in reddressal of grievances of members was well appreciated by the speakers.

While replying to the felicitation, Vele expressed his gratitude towards PNBEU and willingly offered to volunteer his services to the union even after retirement.
He called upon the members of the union to strengthen their movement. He thanked the members of the union for reposing faith in his leadership and organising such a grand programme.

Sunil Pathak, President, Mahesh Barapatre, General Secretary, Ravi Sorakhe, Treasurer also expressed their views on the occasion. V K Sardeshpande, Assistant General Manager of Punjab National Bank also hailed Vele’s contribution to the bank as well as to the union.
Arvind Kurhadkar Deputy General Secretary conducted the proceedings while Sanjay Shende (Hinganghat), Vice-President proposed the vote of thanks.

P G Meshram, Ramesh Bajirao, C P Walde, Sudesh Mendhe, Girija Murthy, Nisha Dharmik Ratnakar Kerhalkar (Bhusawal), Avinash Atram, Arnalkar (Kanhan), Prakash Agrawal (Wardha) and Snehal Wanjari (Fetri) worked hard for the success of the programme.

Punjab National Bank Employees Union is continously highlighting various issues of the bank employees with the management of the banks so that they get justice.
