Business Bureau,

The city unit of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) on Thursday staged demonstrations here to press for its demand of reorganisation of the NITI Aayog saying that the ‘misguided’ and ‘directionless’ reforms of the Aayog should be withdrawn. Large number of BMS workers representing its various units participated in the agitation.

BMS has been opposing the Aayog’s stand and decided to stage demonstration across the country on June 22 and 23. Accordingly, the agitators staged demonstrations at Samvidhan Chowk and also gave a memorandum to the district authorities demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi to look into the matter. The agitators threatened to intensify the agitation if the Governmnet fails to fulfill their demand.

BMS has been alleging the NITI Aayog of promoting ‘anti-labour proposals’ in the name of the labour law reforms. “These proposals are developing a sense of insecurity among the labour and also affecting the industry as a whole,” said one of the office-bearers of the BMS’s city unit.

At its two-day annual meeting held in Kanpur, the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh has passed a resolution to oppose NITI Aayog highlighting that it is working against the interest of the workers.

Apart from this, the BMS is also opposing disinvestment of public sector units and believes that the move would weaken the country’s economy, informs a press release issued by Suresh Choudhary, Chief Public Relation Officer of BMS, Vidarbha Pradesh.
