Maharashtra Government should set up State-level GST Council: Agrawal

Dipen Agrawal, President of CAMIT called upon Sudhir Mungatiwar, Maharashtra Minister for Finance. The Chamber of Associations of Maharashtra Industry & Trade ( CAMIT) extended support and best wishes to him for ambitious 4 crore State-wide tree plantation drive undertaken by Forest Ministry and also smooth roll out of biggest ever tax reform GST.


Agrawal appealed to him to create a State-level GST Council consisting of bureaucrats and representatives from trade and industry to address teething issues of GST. Agrawal said that trade and industry had supported Government in introduction of GST.

“Now, it becomes the duty of the Government to see that the problems arising out of GST should be addressed properly, “ he said. Agrawal also raised the issues of textiles to be kept under exemption in the GST regime as it was exempted in Excise and VAT.
Mungantiwar assured to take up the issues in next GST Council meeting .
