RICT launched at Head Post Office

“Department of Post is now geared-up for providing high-tech facilities to its customers with the optimum utilisation of advanced technologies. Continuing the series of introducing technological upgradations in postal services, Rural Information and Communication Technology (RICT) has been launched under Digital India campaign for ensuring prompt financial services of the department on doorstep of customers”, informed by Surya Kant Dubey, Senior Superintendent of Post, Head Post Office Jabalpur Division while addressing a press conference, on Monday.

SSP, S K Dubey informed that RICT service was successfully launched at Head Post Office Jabalpur. The advanced service has been started in 46 of the 318 branch post offices in rural areas. Postmen have been given RICT devices for providing benefits of financial services like money order, withdrawal from postal saving account etc to customers on their doorstep. It will completely eliminate manual working and bring transparency in financial dealings at post offices. Rest of the branch post offices will be given RICT devices for benefiting the customers. The customers who have Adhar uniqueidentification number will be eligible to access the service. Besides this, Postman App has been launched with distribution of smart phone handsets to Postmen for prompt updating post status.He added that efforts are being made for upgradation of existing infrastructures at post-offices and providing better facilities to employees. On the occasion, Devilal, Deputy Superintendent of Post Office Jabalpur, GS Solanki, Superintendent of Rail Mail Service, Jabalpur, Adarsh Pachera, IPS Probationer and Aarti Verma, IPS Probationer were present.
