Singh reviews dvpt works in NHAI, MPRDC, PWD meet

MEMBER of Parliament Rakesh Singh, on Tuesday chaired an important meeting of senior officials of various concerned departments and reviewed the progress of work for construction of flyover, greater ring road and national highway at circuit house.

It may be noted that to add to development of the city and give it a metropolitan look, Singh had placed a proposal of aforementioned development works before Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari during his visit to city. The Union Minister has approved the proposals and also got sanctioned needed amount for the works.

Hence, to ensure monitoring of the works and ascertain time limit for completion of the same, MP Singh held detailed discussion with senior officials of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC) and Public Works Department (PWD).

During the meeting, Singh said the 4 kilometer flyover to be constructed with a cost of Rs 750 crore would be made so that it would not hamper proposed operation of metro train in city. The flyover should be constructed on level 2 and the metro on level 1. He said within a month a consultancy would be decided. Thereafter, DPR would be made and be sent to Government for it consent.

He further informed that a greater ring road of 112 kilometres would be constructed with an estimated cost of nearly Rs 1400 crore surrounding the city to organise and synchronies traffic in future. The state government would do land requisition work which might be completed by November 2017. He said efforts would be made to give construction work of the road to the agency which would build Narmada Expressway. Singh said the road would also have Wayside amenities at least at two places and a Logistic Park.

Likewise, a new Highway connecting Amarkantak-Jabalpur-Bilaspur would also be constructed with a cost of Rs 1250 crore. Tender for DPR has already been issued. The Member of Parliament Singh also reviewed the progress of NH 7, NH 12 and NH 12A.During the meeting Singh informed that tender process for the road from YMCA to Barela has been completed and sent to the State government for its consent.

He said efforts would be made to widen the four lane road to 15 metre which would surely fulfill the current need of the city. He also directed concerned officials to shift the site of Toll Plaza at Barela.

It may be noted that following due efforts of MP Rakesh Singh, the Union government has approved development works to the tune of Rs 3500 crore for developing needed infrastructure in the city.
