Koradi Power Plant bags award

KORADI Power Plant took up a project of supplying pure drinking water to its adjoining six villages as a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by installing Water ATM. It was installed for making drinking water available for the rural population.

The project was awarded National Award for Water Management. This is the first of its kind project in the country run by women self help group (SHG). The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), Union Ministry of Water Resources and Information and Technology Department Delhi had jointly organised a seminar on water management at New Delhi, in which the project was awarded.

K P Bakshi, President of Maharashtra Water Resources Control Trust presented the award to Prafull Pathak, Resident Exe Director of Koradi Power Plant. The project is run at Suradevi, Varegaon, Kathala, Masala and Lonkhairi villages with the help of SHGs. MAHANIRMITI has supplied to all 3,500 families of six villages ATM card, easy recharge and a 20 litre capacity plastic can. The project is providing 14,000 people pure drinking water and employment to 50 ladies. The villagers are getting pure drinking water at rate of 25 paise per litre.
